The rate follows the live international gold spot price (USD per troy ounce), converted to AED at the fixed rate of 3.6725 and to grams (1 troy ounce = 31.1035 g). Lower karats are priced by their gold purity.
What is the difference between 24K, 22K, 21K and 18K gold?
24K is pure gold (99.9%). 22K has 91.6% gold, 21K has 87.5% and 18K has 75%. Lower karats contain more alloy metals, which makes them stronger and better suited to everyday jewellery.
